From earth to table
I fell in love with pottery when I signed up to my first ever classes in 2014 at Lisa Hammond’s pottery studio. It was supposed to be a hobby, but I found myself thinking about making constantly. I loved that I could make permanent, beautiful items from resources that the earth has given us.
After years of lessons and a little break during a lockdown, I started making again at The Kiln Rooms.
Since then, I have been selling my work independently; at markets and in small batches in different locations such as South London Gallery Bookshop, Gather and Tea2You.
My work consists of textured (mainly wheel thrown) tableware and decorative items. I love tactile items and draw inspiration from patterns in nature, architecture and even shapes of everyday basics.. like screws or bolts.
For me, I have always found joy in the little things. I love sitting around a table with loved ones, or by myself with my favourite meal, eating nice food from nice tableware. It’s something that brings me joy and I want to share that joy with others through ooze ceramics.
